Overview

Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose to bring it into balance with the rest of the face. Dr. Whitfield plans each case with 3D photography so you can see the proposed change before you decide. Surgery can also improve breathing when that is part of your goal.

Who it suits

Candidates are adults whose facial growth is complete, who are in good general health, and who want a change that suits their face rather than a standard shape.

Recovery timeline

Week 1

A splint protects the nose. Expect swelling around the eyes and nose. Rest with your head raised.

Weeks 2 to 4

The splint comes off at around one week. Most people feel comfortable returning to work in this period.

Weeks 4 to 8

Gradual return to exercise as advised. Swelling reduces slowly and the nose begins to look more defined.

Month 3 and beyond

The tip of the nose can take up to a year to fully settle. We review your progress at set visits.
