Overview
Eyelid surgery removes or repositions excess skin and fat from the upper or lower lids. It can ease the heavy, tired look that comes with age, and in some cases improve the field of vision.
Who it suits
Good candidates are adults with drooping upper lids or under-eye bags who are in good health and have realistic goals.
Recovery timeline
Week 1
Cold compresses and lubricating ointment. Your vision may be blurry and your eyes sensitive to light for a few days.
Weeks 2 to 4
Stitches are removed. Bruising fades and most patients return to work and light activity.
Weeks 4 to 8
Contact lenses and make-up are reintroduced as advised. The scars soften and become less noticeable.
Month 3 and beyond
The final result is clear after a few months. We review your healing at set visits.
